DXE Medical offers our customers the opportunity to benefit from some of the most competitive repair rates in the country.  From minor in house repairs on single pieces of equipment, to major onsite repairs on a large amount of equipment, DXE can economically service your medical equipment repair needs.

WHY DO I NEED A PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE ON MY DEFIBRILLATORS?

All major manufacturers require a thorough maintenance test on your defibrillators every 12 months by a qualified biomedical technician to ensure that the functions of the unit work properly and keep the end user in compliance. DXE Medical’s factory-trained Biomedical Technicians can analyze your equipment and run diagnostics with the latest testing devices to ensure it is operating effectively within manufacturer set parameters and keep you compliant with state regulations.

SHOULD I SEND MY AEDS IN FOR A PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE?

I highly recommend sending them in for their annual preventative maintenance/calibration.  This will help you stay FDA compliant and extend the life of your units, especially if your units are older devices.  Even with the AED’s self-test, there is no guarantee the unit will operate properly and you do not want to find this out during a patient event.

REMAIN IN COMPLIANCE

The widely accepted CAAS (Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services) states in section 203 4. “The agency shall have a preventative maintenance program for durable medical equipment.  At a minimum, this program shall include scheduled testing, calibration, and/or preventative maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations. Equipment to be included in the DME maintenance program will include all equipment that is electrical and/or mechanical.”

The FDA states in its recommendations on External Defibrillators with “Hands-Free” Capability that you must, “Test the defibrillator system at least once every six months to ensure that the system will reliably produce the maximum energy level that will be used on patients.”
